Ian
Bergin makes accounting understandable. Ian's matter-of-fact, easy-to-understand

Ian
employs industry statistics to use as a benchmark to evaluate a
company's performance. This "benchmarking" technique makes
changing key business drivers clearer in order to improve the profit
and net worth of a client's business.
Ian
has experience in the purchase and sale of businesses. He is skilled
in consulting, financial analysis, computer modeling and corporate
financing, as well as the development of the Hobb & Company
team. Ian looks at the numbers and turns them into the Big Picture.
Ian
has been with Hobb & Company as a partner since 1993. Previously
he worked in the local office of BDO Dunwoody, providing auditing,
accounting and financial and management consulting to a variety
of clients. He was in charge of computer services for the BDO Oshawa
office.
He
holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo
and obtained his CA designation in 1983. He has completed the CICA
In-Depth Tax Course.
Ian
is currently a director of the Central Ontario Chartered Accountants
Association. He has also served as a director and treasurer of the
Durham Region Manufacturer's Association, a director of the Whitby
Chamber of Commerce, as chairman of his local school council and
a member of the Oshawa Rotary Club.
Ian
is married and has two children. He and his family are avid skiers
in winter and enjoy swimming and biking in summer.
