Peter
Hobb has been the core visionary at Hobb & Company since 1983.
His aim was to create a premier Durham Region accounting firm that was
known for integrity, service and professionalism. Through his leadership,
the firm's character is a combination of top-notch professional
accounting and advisory competency, full service to all its clients
and strengths in interpersonal relationships, balanced with a dedication
of each team member to family and community.
Peter
has a global view of accounting. He is totally focused on client
service, keeping in close contact with his clients. Peter is responsible
for the business consulting side of Hobb & Company. He works
with his clients to develop business strategy, identify opportunities
and implement strategies to help them grow their businesses profitably.
He
is also the President of ROCG Hobb & Company Management Consulting
Inc.
Previously,
Peter had experience in KPMG and Campbell Sharp, two downtown Toronto
firms before coming to Durham Region. Peter has also worked in accounting
research with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
He
is published in CA Magazine, has been a guest on local TV discussing
personal tax matters and has done public speaking on a wide variety
of topics, from tax issues to creating a successful business.
He
holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Business Management from
Ryerson University. Peter became a Chartered Accountant in 1976
and a Certified Financial Planner in 1999. Peter is also a member
of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMAC).
He
is active in his community and is currently a Board member of the
Memorial Hospital Foundation in Bowmanville and chairs its Planned
Giving Committee. Peter has also been active in minor sports, coaching
both hockey and soccer teams.
Peter
is married and has two children. He plays hockey, golf, baseball
and tennis, and enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and biking.
