Cathie Brogan, CGA

Cathie Brogan is well revered by clients and stakeholders as a solutions-focused consultant and advisor who blends advanced technical acumen with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to providing value.  With her valuable cross-functional background in government-side processes; Cathie is well positioned to offer clients a unique insider's perspective to key decision-making and success factors during audit reviews and appeal claims.

Cathie has over 25 years of government and private practice experience in the field of commodity taxation.  Experience that brings the firm a comprehensive understanding of government auditing policies and procedures, combined with expertise in federal and provincial commodity tax legislation as it applies to a wide range of goods and services.

Over the past ten years Cathie has established a strong commodity sales tax practice specializing in providing consulting and advisory services, liability reviews, and recovery reviews for corporate, small business, charitable, and MUSH sector clients.  She is a legislative expert in RST, GST, HST, QST, EHT, and PST.

Cathie obtained a Business Administration Diploma from Durham College, she is a Certified General Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (honours) from Laurentian University in 2010.  She is a strong believer in continuous education and regularly participates in professional development courses.

In her free time she enjoys reading, gardening, and supporting her children's sports teams.  She is passionate about giving back to her community and is a dedicated volunteer working with organziations such as the Canadian Cancer Society, Terry Fox Run, and her local school council and horticultural society.  She is also an active member of Beta Sigma Phi.
