Denise A. Jones, CA

Denise is actively involved in helping her clients better manage their business through business coaching, cash flow analysis, and assistance with corporate financing. Her approach combines strong financial acumen with the soft human skills, taking into account the individual needs of each client. Denise takes the time to understand the unique challenges of each of her clients to assist them with their strategic business decisions and charting a course for their future.

Denise's expertise at Hobb & Company is assurance services. She oversees all audit engagements undertaken by the firm. Denise's strong accounting background makes her the resident authority on adherence to professional and accounting standards for the firm. Denise is also responsible for human resources at Hobb & Company.

In 2001, Denise made the move from KPMG LLP to join Hobb & Company for a change in lifestyle. Living and working locally has provided many benefits for Denise and her family and given Denise the opportunity to become more involved in Durham Region.

Denise holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University and obtained her CA designation in 1993. She became a partner at Hobb & Company in 2003.

Denise has many professional and community service involvements. She was involved with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology at its inception and was a Governor for both the University and Durham College. Denise is currently a member of the Small Practice Advisory Committee for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. She is also a director and the VP Finance for the Central Ontario CA Association. She has served as a corporate account executive for the United Way of York Region.

Denise is married and has two children. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, curling, hiking and traveling with her family.
