Laura E. Wilson, CA

Laura Wilson has a broad range of experience in providing assurance services to small and medium sized businesses in the private and not-for-profit sectors.  She helps to match client's needs with the right assurance product.  She enjoys learning about client's unique businesses in order to help them improve processes to maximize profitability.  Laura's strong technical and analytical skills combined with extensive training and experience with process review and documentation has enabled her to assist clients in identifying areas for improvement within their business and provide practical recommendations for moving forward.

Laura began her career in assurance services with an international accounting firm in the Retail, Distribution and Manufacturing Group.  She joined Hobb & Company in 2004 as a Senior Accountant and was promoted to Manager in 2009.  As part of the Management Team, Laura coaches and mentors staff, coordinates the professional development needs of the team, and ensures the firm's high quality standards are met.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree from York University.  She became a Chartered Accountant in 2005 and is also a Licensed Public Accountant.

As an active member of her community, Laura has served as the bookkeeper for the Central Ontario Chartered Accountants Association and is currently the Agency Coordinator for the Institute of Chartered Accountants Free Tax Clinics.

Laura is married with two children.  Working for Hobb & Company allows her the flexibility to have more time with her children.  She also enjoys reading and swimming.
